Holiday time with family is the best, especially with a festive drink. There are few non-alcoholic options, usually sparkling juice or water. With a few bold ingredients, a good spirit-free cocktail can be as good as any other.
6 cranberries
1 ounce simple syrup
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 slices jalapeño, plus more for garnish
½ ounce honey
3 ounces cranberry juice
8 ounces ginger beer, or as needed
1 cinnamon stick
1 sprig rosemary
Ingredient
Direction
In a small bowl, combine the cranberries and the simple syrup and turn them over.
1
If you want the cranberries to be sticky but not wet, spread them out on a sheet tray and shake off any excess syrup by shaking it off.
2
Toss the sugar in a gentle manner, then allow it to dry. Combine the jalapeño and honey in a glass designed for cocktails.
3
Mix the jalapeño until it is completely broken down. Blend in the cranberry juice after adding it.
4
To a cup made of copper, add ice. Pour the jalapeño mixture into the cup after straining it. Add some ginger beer on top.
5
Cranberries that have been sugared, a cinnamon stick, jalapeño slices, and rosemary should be used as garnishes when serving.
